General

Q: Are there any feature restrictions in the current release of A2Z Collection Manager?

A: The latest stable release of A2Z Collection Manager is version 2.4, build 77. The trial version is available for download. It is fully functional. The number of entered records is limited to 30 per table.

Installation

Q: How do I install the software?

A: A2Z Collection Manager is distributed as a self extracting archive. Download it to any folder on your disk and launch the downloaded executable. The setup program will guide you through the installation process.

Q: Will I lose my old data if I install a new version.

A: No. A2Z Collection Manager is backward compatible. You can always open documents created with older versions of the product.

Q: I have downloaded a new release of A2Z Collection Manager. When I run the installation program, it removed my previous version and displayed "Maintenance complete" message. What did I do wrong?

A: You did nothing wrong. When a new upgrade is run, it first checks and removes previous versions of A2Z Collection Manager (if found). Simply run the installation program again. On the second execution it will see that there are no older versions of the program present on your PC and will correctly install the new upgrade.

Q: How do I uninstall the current version.

A: The installation application automatically detects if an older version is present in the system and uninstalls it. You can also use the Windows Add/Remove Programs option. To do so, follow these steps:

  1. In the Start menu, select Settings, then Control Panel.
  2. Double Click Add/Remove Programs.
  3. Under the Install/Uninstall tab, select "A2Z Collection Manager".
  4. Click Add/Remove.

Note : The files and documents that you created will be skipped during the uninstall.

Q: I downloaded and installed A2Z Collection Manager but it failed to start. Some DLL file was reported missing. What do I do now?

A: Older operating systems such as Windows 95 and Windows NT (SP3) do not have standard libraries pre-installed. We have created special installation package that will upgrade your operation system software. Visit our download area, install the MFC package (mfc62.exe) and try restarting A2Z Collection Manager. There is no need to re-install A2Z Collection Manager.

Registration

Q: I do not want to use my credit card online, can I still purchase the program?

A: Absolutely. As well as using your credit card, you can order A2Z Collection Manager by sending a check, bank draft, cash or through a bank/wire transfer. You can send us your details by fax or phone instead of using the online services. In any case we will not see your credit card details - we use services of share-It who is our global e-commerce provider for software and shareware sales via the Internet. Q: I registered A2Z Collection Manager. What do I do next?

A: Follow these steps:

  1. Wait for the activation key. 
    It will be sent to the email address you specified during the registration process usually within 24 hours after we receive a confirmation of the payment.
  2. Download and install the evaluation version of the program.
    If you have already done so (i.e. used the trial version for the evaluation), then skip this step.
  3. Launch A2Z Collection Manager and use "Software Registration" dialog to enter the key.
    Go to "MainMenu|Help|Register...". Enter your name and the key exactly as specified in the email message you received from us.
  4. The key is now entered and your name appears at the top of the screen.
    Congratulations! You are now a registered user of our software.
  5. Check the latest update
    Just to make sure you are using the latest version go to "MainMenu|Help|WebConnect|CheckUpdates". We would also recommend subscribing for notifications. Check out "MainMenu|Help|WebConnect|EmailNotifications".

Q: I received the activation key from you but it doesn't seem to work.

A: The keys are calculated based on your name. Make sure you enter your name and the key exactly as it is shown in the notification message that you received from us. Both your name and the key are case sensitive.

Miscellaneous

Q: What is the difference between commercial and private versions?

A: There is no difference in functionality. If you intend to use the software for any kind of commercial activity you will have to register the commercial version, otherwise the private version should suffice. If you are not sure what version you should purchase, feel free to ask us. Remember, each registered version of the A2Z Collection Manager is for a single user only. Each additional user will have to register separately. We will be happy to give you a discount if you buy more then one copy.

Q: Can I buy A2Z Collection Manager on CD?

A: No, our software can only be downloaded. Activation keys are sent by e-mail.
